Wills
Your
Will is one of the most important documents you will ever sign. However
a large number of people put off making a Will or never make one. The
common perception is that Solicitors are expensive but actually at
Acorn we do the majority of Wills on fixed prices from as low as £62.50
plus VAT. We also offer free storage of your Will and free Will
Reviews.
As Solicitors we are fully regulated and have
full insurance unlike some other firms who advise on Wills who may try
to evade liability for any losses due to their negligence.
You
can buy a pack and do it yourself, or do your Will online. However this
is taking a huge risk and you may be doing more harm than good. Without
a Solicitor the potential for getting it wrong is huge and can be very
costly to undo after you have gone.
So use Acorn and pay a
competitive fee but get a personal service with no hidden charges and
the assurance of professional advice controlled by professional bodies
and backed by professional insurance.
Probate
Dealing
with the affairs of a loved one who has passed away can be very
stressful and time consuming. It is natural that you should wish their
estate to be dealt with quickly and efficiently by a Solicitor who
specialises in probate.
Probate solicitors are often seen
as being slow and expensive. We offer free initial consultations -
however long - with no obligation, usually on a same day basis (as far
as possible). From the initial meeting we then agree a timetable with
you for getting things done and if possible will work with you with the
aim of keeping costs to a minimum. We also work generally on fixed fees
so you know exactly how much it will cost from the beginning. We also
advise on ways of saving tax or varying the will or intestacy (where
there is no Will) through Deeds of Variation.
Trusts
A Trust can be a useful way of protecting your assets from our complicated tax laws, potential care fees or from spendthrift family members. We can advise you on what type of trust may be suitable and the various taxes that will be payable. We can also act as professional trustees if required.
Inheritance Tax
Inheritance Tax can be a big problem for people and has become more of a problem in recent years with the increases in property prices. Using our expertise we advise our clients on how to minimize the potential tax bill and maximise the amount passing to the next generation.
Professional Executors & Trustees
To
ensure that Probate or Trusts are carried out correctly and in
accordance with the often complex rules and regulations, you can
appoint a professional firm alongside a Personal Executor or alone.
Acorn
Solicitors provides a specialist Probate and Trusts service for
Executors and Trustees, for those who die intestate (where there is no
Will) and where we have been appointed Executors in a Will or a Trust.
We ensure that probate is granted efficiently, assets are distributed
quickly and trusts are handled effectively.
Acorn
Solicitors will relieve you of the stress involved and manage the
complex work of administration on your behalf, as well as releasing you
from your personal liability as an Executor. We specialise in Probate,
so you benefit from our expert knowledge and experience.
